A Talk on Intellectual Property Rights by Maya Teacher

We celebrated World Intellectual Property Day on April 26, 2021. To make it more intuitive, our teacher gave a video based lecture. Dr. Maya S , Asst. Prof, Mar Theophilus Training College gave the talk. The whole programme was organized by NISARGA-65th College Union.


IPR are basically human legal rights. They are recognized and protected.  What comes under IPR? Mainly patents, designs and trademarks comes under IPR. 





Acts that come under the protection of intellectual property:

1. The Patents Act, 1970 (as amended in 2005)
2. The copyright Act, 1957
3. The Designs Act, 2000
4. The Geographical Indications of Goods(Registration and   Protection) Act, 1999
5. The Semiconductor Integrated Circuits Layout Designs Act,2000
6. The Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers Right Act, 2001
7.  The Information Technology Act, 2000.

 26-08-2022 Last Day of Teacher Training Internship @     ST Goretti's HSS, Nalanchira The day finally came and I was feeling sad that we had to leave during the exam seasons as it prevented us from saying a proper goodbye to our students and our dear teachers.  Even during these days, students came to us to clear their doubts. Although it was our last day we still attended to our school duties and assisted teachers in their invigilation duties. At 11:15 we assembled at the Hm's office for a short vote of thanks session. I was in charge of the speech and thanked all the staff and students for their love and support. We also presented a thank you gift to the HM and also distributed some sweets. Then we had a photography session with the teachers. I can never forget the experience that I got from St Goretti school.
