                                  THAT GREESHMA EFFECT😁 I retired for the night after knowing that I got a prize for Mothers Day Competition, organized by SOLASTA and NISARGA. I woke up to another prize associated with MATHLETICS (a week long competition conducted by Maths optional). Still I didn't had to wait too long to know about winning another beautiful prize, this time for participating in an Intercollegiate Competition. Three prizes in a row💜                        Me by the end of the day👆 Today we had optional hour in the morning.  Meekha ma'am gave an introduction on Bloom' Taxonomy and students took seminars where they discussed the different domains such as cognitive , affective and psychomotor aspects of the taxonomy.  The next session was handled by Gibi ma'am. On 22nd May, Natural Science optional and Nisarga jointly conducted an online program as part of World Biodiversity Day. DISAPPEARING BIODIVERSITY 🌏          We are not the sole owners of the Earth rather we are here to live in a community. Humans along with other animals, plants and other abiotic components make the ecosystem of the earth. But human interference o nature in the form of hunting, poaching or creating development induced problems leads to a loss of habitat and consequently their number are decreasing.  In a given food web disappearance of one organism automatically alters the survival of other.                              Elsa and Biji Today we had PE by George sir. More than that Biji finally re-joined our online class today. Sir taught us some theory portions, mainly about physical fitness. Next session was handled by Gibi ma'am. Elsa gave a beautiful prayer song. She discussed topics such as creativity, characteristics of creativity and some types of  defence mechanisms such as displacement and sublimation. For optional hour we did some productive work on Blooms Taxonomy.

                                                 Birthday Special Blog😁 🎈🎉🎊🎊🎆🎇 Happy Birthday dad Happy Birthday Joju sir Happy Birthday Priyanka and Devika      Thank you for making this day special. Lockdown birthdays are a trend in social media. You wish and post pictures, put up videos, trolls and do video calls or get a birthday song sung by friends during online classes- this is the new normal.  Today our online class began with everyone wishing a happy birthday to our teacher who turns 49 this year. Joju sir thanked us and we listened to our friends' seminar presentations. Physical science students took their seminars on topics such as open educational resources, FOSSEE, e- Yantra, CEC, SAKSHAT, SAMAGRA and some web applications. The class ended with a motivational talk by Joju sir.   The next session was handled by Ancy ma'am. Some of us sang a birthday song for Priyanka and Devika. After that ma'am took a class on democracy and role of education in society.

            The Hidden Gem of English Optional💓 Today morning we had our optional class and  also it was our last presentation on reading and reflection, which was done by Mahima. She presented on a notable work written by Afghan- American writer Khaled Hosseini - 'The Kite Runner'. A must read and gripping tale of two separated lives.  It was an excellent presentation. It was a surprise for us because Mahima was notorious for being absent, mostly because of her health, and never initiated to anything when it came to competitions. Now we know that she is a real gem when it comes to teaching and explaining concepts. Our teacher was very happy with Mahima's way of presentation and so were we. Talk about a nice ending to our reading and reflection seminars. 😄 The next session was on Bloom's Taxonomy. Anooja gave a brief introduction and pointed out some expected questions for our exams. Tolkein Today morning we had Joju sir's session. The class began with some motivational words from sir, that was about killing bad habits and practice time boxing. Social science optional students presented their seminars. They discussed on cloud computing, its characteristics, platform as a service etc to name a few. Next session was handled by Ancy ma'am. We came to know that two of our batchmates were covid-positive. Ma'am ensured them all kinds of support. Today she discussed on John Dewey, his idea on education- " Education is not preparation for life, education is life itself." She also taught us about the Eclectic tendencies in education.  17-05-2021                a²+b²=a+....babababa.... Today the Maths dept. officially inaugurated their association. The programme was inaugurated with a video which included all the students from the optional, their teacher-Dr. Deepthi miss, guest of the day-Appani Sarath, and our beloved principal Dr. K. Y. Benedict. They are also planning to conduct a week long competition as part of the inauguration.                                        And so they have launched with full vigour and support from everyone belonging to the Mar Theophilus family.

  17th May 2021 Today morning session Malayalam optional conducted an online webinar. It was also the platform for inaugurating their association. The chief guest invited for the talk was Dr. Deepu Kurup. He is currently working as an Asst. professor at NSS college Nilamel. He is also an acclaimed writer. Mukilan, a treasure based book  written in Malayalam is a popular work authored by Deepu sir.   It was a good talk. The next session was handled by Gibi teacher. Ma'am taught us some types of defence mechanisms- regression, displacement and also on types of intelligence. She also made students ask questions on the topic they had presented their seminar on.

15th May 2021                   Happy International Family Day💖🎆 NISARGA, the 65th College Union of MTTC organized a talk on World Family Day. The talk was given by Dr. Joju John, Asst. Professor, Mar Theophilus Training College which is now available on youtube. He began his talk with a small poem 'The Death of The Hired Man' by Robert Frost. ' Home is the place where, when you have to go there, They have to take you in.’ - (lines from The Death of The Hired Man) Then sir stressed on the care and love that you can surely get when your family is beside you, during this pandemic times, the importance of grandparents in children's lives- how they help to spread values when parents fail to teach or listen to their children and that parents should spent time with their children. Remember as parents, their only dream is to see their children succeed in life; that they become good human beings. He ended his talk with a famous quote by Mother Teresa-

  14th May 2021             Red Alert in several districts of Kerala It is predicted that heavy rain is likely to continue to fall till May 18th. Even though the state is not in the pathway of the cyclone that formed in the Arabian sea, coastal areas were severely hit and most of the families residing there were evacuated. On 14th we had two online sessions. Meekha ma'am handled the optional hour. Megha couldn't take her reading and reflection because of poor net connectivity. She was presenting her reflection on the award winning book The White Tiger by Aravind Adiga. The book got turned into a movie which was released this year. The main roles are played by Adarsh Gourav, Priyanka Chopra and Rajkumar Rao.  Since there was net issues Mahima couldn't join the meet. The class ended with Ma'am giving us instructions about the upcoming competition on Cultural Diversity organized by both English optional and Union members of MTTC.   13th May 2021                                                 Eid Mubarak During these challenging times, let us work together to stay safe and happy. Eid Mubarak!  Heavy rain is upon us to add to lockdown in Kerala. Because it was Eid we didn't have any online classes. Much to everyone's joy  the result of Mothers Day competition was announced, conducted jointly by Union and Physical Science optional students. Along with other winners, Uthara, Sreepriya and Jis got selected from our department.  But the actual highlight of the day was to see our own teachers participation. 4 Generations - Meekha ma'am                                     Gibi teacher & mother

  12th May 2021                               Online Classes @ Cloudy Days Joju sir's class began at 9:30am. He gave us a warm greeting, congratulated Uthara for giving the talk about communication and also encouraged us about how if we are interested we could also do a talk at the Insight Indepth online platform.  Class began with a motivational thought by Joju sir. He read out a quote made by Oprah Winfrey. “The great courageous act that we must all do, is to have the courage to step out of our history and past so that we can live our dreams.”  ?                                                                     - Oprah Winfrey We continued with our seminar. Maths optional took the seminar on phishing, software piracy, ways to prevent piracy, netiquette and  plagiarism. Next session was handled by Gibi ma'am. Devika initiated a prayer song and ma'am gave us instructions on our assignments. It was a question- answer session on the topics we have learnt - Multiple Intelli
