Kho-Kho: A Game of Strategy     Tracing its o rigins in Maharashtra,  Kho - Kho  in  ancient times  was played on  रथ     or chariots and was  known as Rathera . This beautiful game is now being played  in different parts of the world. Little did I know that we will get to play this game of tag for our PE. Half way into the game my senses became quite alert. All the players had their eyes on the target. It sounded fun to me but then I realized the game meant business. Two teams comprising of eight players simultaneously changing roles of chaser and runner. The team that captures all the runners the fastest wins. It looked easy but  capturing the runner was a whole other matter. If you aren't quick on your toes, you will never get near your runners. The runners are allowed to move around while the chaser's movements are limited. The only option left for the chaser is to switch positions with their team player. The chasers have to think fast, els

Travelling Minds One  special activity we did today in our psychology class was about imagining yourself reborn as another being and what amount of things that you can complete in that form within a span of 3 minutes? All of us closed our eyes and started to imagine the things we liked to be reborn as. My mind focused on the world and slowly I saw a small earthworm take shape. At first I felt sad for myself thinking,"what can I do in an earthworm's body?" ,  but slowly I perceived how a day for an earthworm would be like in the soil.  Since I was feeling helpless seeing the damage done to my environment  I got a feeling that though small I can make my environment more safe simply by existing.  Still I decided to make my life more interesting. I decided to make myself visible to an approaching farmer who decides to take me with him. He keeps me safe inside a small bottle with my other friends. I visit different schools around Kerala where students see and learn my import

The Reflective Teacher     In today's class we learnt more about teachers and their methods of approach. There are many features that make teaching effective and learner friendly and one of them is  reflection.Reflection is a systematic process and very meaningful at that. Its not just about knowing the subject matter that brings out the best in a teacher. Teaching becomes more effective with reflections as it helps educators to analyse and improvise their methods and overtime leads to their growth and maturation. So what could be a more powerful ally for a teacher other than a proper reflection...    We also got to listen to the melodious theme song sung by a former Theophilus student for the college.During the afternoon session, we did a google meet with our teacher and then explored the library which was very fruitful. The day ended as usual with PE where we all enjoyed the 'dodge the ball' game.
