27-30th June 2022 School Internship @ St Goretti's HSS          On 27th June,  four of us had morning discipline duty. At 9:10 we gathered at the HM's office for a short prayer. After that we left for our respective classes.  Classes went smoothly. I tried to inculcate moral values in my teaching and gave examples and stories to boost the students morale. After my class I went to Jeena sister's class for peer observation. The teaching aids used was appropriate but class management was difficult with the students showing indiscipline even in the teacher's presence. After that  there was lunch duty and then we went for substitiuion duties.                       On 28th June teachers were busy with returning the mid term exam papers back to the students. Students were really disturbed because of their performance and it was a challenge to keep their attention throughout the class. I made sure to provide activities such as interactice quiz and videos to make the student

COGNITIVE MAP  The term “cognitive map” has been used to describe several forms of a diagrammatic representation of an individual’s cognitions. A   concept map  is really nothing more than a diagram or a visual representation of the individual and shared relationships between core concepts and ideas.  concept mapping can be used to help students that are exhibiting real creativity and higher cognitive levels in particular.                This assignment contains a concept map for Plus One and Plus Two students, based on the units , Harmony of Life and Heights of Harmony respectively .

26-07-2022- Peer Observation Intership@ St Goretti's HSS, Nalanchira       Today we reached school by 9 am and after a short prayer left for our respective classes. The laptop kept in the classroom was not working, so I faced difficulty while using PPT. I checked their previous learning and also corrected their homeworks. Students were interested and cooperative during class hour. I made sure to share some positive thoughts to make them more energetic and active. Students maintained good discipline and shared their doubts. I gave them encouragment as and when required and even stopped for some occassional jokes. In between i also asked them some general knowledge questions and students positively responded. Teaching aids was properly used. Students showed more comprehension when visual aids were presented. Along with this they were also given activities, both individual and group work, which they completed within the time duration and presented beautifully.       After the class I

Everyone was relaxed since exams were finally over. It was a loss for me since I lost around 4 classes because of the mid-term examinations. But I was able to move forward with my topic

21-07-2022                                      International Moon Day Competition Today was the last day of the mid-term examinations. We were finally happy that the exams had come to an end.  Today we also had a task of arranging items, mainly drawings of kids from 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th standards. The competition was based on International Moon Day. The children did very well. Again three teacher trainees was asked to give their judgement of the paintings and three among us - Rubeena, Jis and Azni gave their remarks after going through the exhibits. Then the exhibition was made open for the students.          These days we are finally getting used to the school and its environment.

20-07-2022 Day 6@ St Goretti The Teacher is the Other Learner in the Classroom     Today we reached school by 9 am and went for a short prayer. After that we were sent for invigilation duties. I was sent to 10 c class and I had lots of fun keeping them controlled throughout the exam. The rest of the time was spent in record writing and going to the college for signing our LP's.      Since it was exam time, we got to see who scored well in our respective classes and it was huge support for our teaching methods.   The next big thing is our sitting area. We were given the place next to the auditorium and sometimes it is unbearable to sit there since children the class next to us is an all boys class. We also got used to the students way of communication and even started to getting used to their swearing and bad words. The day ended on a good note.

19-07-2022                            Day  5 @ St Goretti's HSS          Today we got our timetable for our duties. I was also assigned to do one day of hostler duty because of Roshna who had to leave the school early. That was one of the difficult duties that we had to do at school. School ends at 3: 30 pm but the hostler duty lasts till 4: 30 pm. Till then we had to stay back and look after the kids until their guardian comes for them.  We were also given invigilation duties. I went to 9 A and it was a really tough experience.  After that we were assigned to 8 B class and I had to explain their Hindi question paper for them. Students were worried that most of the questions were not based on what they were taught. The whole hour was total confusion.      The day was very hectic.

18-07-2022             Mid - Term Examination Begins @ ST Goretti's School             This week was an examination week for the students. It was a huge setback for me because now I had lost the majority to take my classes since mine was during the first period.  We met for a short prayer and after that, we were given instructions regarding the substitution duties. Managing an examination room was more difficult than a regular class. Each class got just one question paper and the teacher had to dictate or write the questions on the board. It was too difficult to manage the class with all the loud noises and students were busy trying to copy the answers from one another. It was clear that none of them had studied properly for the exam.           The afternoon session was again spent on lesson plan completing and doing other school duties.
16 -07-2022 Day 3 @ St Goretti's HSS                                        After reaching the school, we gathered for the prayer. Since it was Mar Ivanios Day on Friday, we got a holiday and then had to take a class on Saturday. The first hour was with 9 D students. Attendance was very low but the class was manageable. I continued with the story ' Maternity". Students answered a pop quiz after the class. I also made sure to give a quick recap of the previous class.      That day we were asked to go to inspect a short exhibition. Three of us went and inspected all the higher secondary classes based on art day. Students gave wonderful presentations and we were amazed to see their exhibits.      During these times we also did our respective duties. HM had given us instructions to check the discipline of the school.

Date:14-07-2022               Second-day @St Goretti's HSS School Class: 9-D Time: 9:30 am - 10:10am                 The day began at 9.05 am with a short prayer at the HM's office. We were given instructions to complete our portions as fast as we can. Before that, some of us had gone for our morning duty. The chapter I took on was 'Maternity'. The class was interesting and effective. I was able to give proper explanations and it was followed by a question-answer session. I was able to give a motivating talk in the beginning as well. Compared to the previous time, students were more interactive and responded to questions.                                          The rest of the time was spent in record writing and preparing to go for substitution classes. By 12:20 we went for lunch duty. It was very satisfying to serve the children with food. By 3:30 pm we went for discipline duty and helped the teachers with other tasks as well.

Beginning Second Phase @ St Goretti's HSS Nalanchira 13-07-2022     The first day at St Goretti's was equally memorable and satisfying for me. The first hour was with 9 D students. Before that, we settled on the upper part of the school and met with the Headmistress. After a short prayer, we left for our classes. Lissy teacher was my teaching guide and she introduced me to the students. As it was the first day, I had some orientation and get to know each other with the children. The total strength of the class was 52. I started the Unit: Bonds of Love and explained the unit. After that, we were given school duties- interval, morning, and lunch duties. Along with that hostelers were asked to stay back till 4:30 pm. The school had a very pleasant atmosphere. The principal made it a rule that we were only allowed to come in sarees and also should wear coats whenever we faced the students.

Marching Towards Final Phase of Teaching Practice Internship July 6, 2022      As per instructions given to us, we were supposed to go to our respective schools to collect timetables as well as portions for this teaching practice internship.  All of us arrived at St Goretti at 9am and we were informed that it was St. Goretti's day and so were asked to come back at 1;30pm. We had to go our separate ways after that and some of us went back to the college to collect our records.     The school had a beautiful atmosphere and calmness. We were led to the headmistress's room and she gave us an overall idea of the proceedings and what was expected from us for the duration of the internship.      Following that, we met with our respective teachers and noted down the timetable and portions to teach. There are four teachers to teach English at the school and Miss Lissy Kuruvila. Classes began at 9:30 am and ended by 3;45 pm. There were so many other duties as well like discipline duty,

Teaching Practice Final Phase@ GGHSS Kanyakulangara     It was the last week of my teaching practice. I had to complete many things in these days. I had prepared the diagnostic test, achievement test. I also had to complete my portion completion.  It felt, like I had became the part of the school. I got so much love and respect from both teachers and students.  I was very confident to take classes, both online and oofline. Though I had a feeling that offline classes were more effective than online modeof teaching.  And I could involve in some of the activities like the Republic Day celebration of the school.  Day by day I got so much attached to the place and satisfaction from teaching my students. At the end of the day we made sure to give sweets to the students and other presents for our teachers as a token of gratitude. They were really supportive and helped me with my mistakes.  Their feedback meant everything to me. It was a memorable 40 days of experience for me. Teaching student

An Online Conscientization Programme @ GGHSS Kanyakulangara      As part of the conscientization, four of us- Lighty sister, Urmila, Rakhi and myself decided to take cybercrime as the topic. A PPT was prepared and additional videos to supplement it were also given. The class was conducted on 13th February 2022.  I had selected 9 th  C1 and C2 students of  GGHSS Kanyakulangara as the participants of the conscientization programme. I began the session by defining the concept of cybercrime and its types. I also gave objective-type questions after each concept to make the topic more interesting. Then I discussed on cyberterrorism and gave an awareness about it to the students.  REFLECTION The awareness programme is a effective one as it gives the needed result. The topic of the conscientisation is suitable for the viewers since they could associate themselves with the content. It helps not only the teacher but also the students to assess themselves on how much they are aware about the ‘
