INNOVATIVE WORK REPORT

INTRODUCTION

An innovative work can be defined as a " new idea, device or method". It is something original and more effective and as a consequence new that 'breaks into' the pupil . Two interesting dimensions of innovation including degree of novelty and type of innovation. Innovative work should be a catalyst to growth . Innovation may be linked to positive changes in efficiency, productivity, quality, competitiveness and intellectual development. Through innovative work the teacher can improve students performance by providing group work opportunities and resources to innovate. It is necessary to create and nurture an environment of innovation.

As part of my Innovative work assignments, I have created a Tabloid newspaper for the students. Proper planning has been done before the development of the learning material. The present material aims to teach the topic "Racial discrimination and Civil rights" from the chapter 'Rosa Parks Sat Still' and in the standard VIII textbook. This Innovative work  contains writing activity with space allocated to students to practice their work. The learning material is developed with the constructivist approach and emphasized real-world tasks, newspaper reading, writing newspaper articles, collaborative learning tasks, opportunities for observing others, self-evaluation.This work is helpful for the students to understand the topic, 'Civil Rights'. As social issues are something that exists in their surroundings, they might have familiar with some of them.
