Parvathy and Shiva

We have seen so many artistic representations of Shiva and Parvathy, mainly the Ardhanaarishvara roopa. In all these paintings we see good looking well rounded pink faces of the deities. The question is are these representations doing justice to the truth that is Shiva and Parvathy. When did appearance(good looks) take the centre stage???

Parental conflicts, extra-marital involvements, indifference to appearance, constantly in the company of ganas- which is their matrimony- is not that alienable to common people and a true nightmare for women of today... And Gibi ma'am, our psychology teacher opines that this is the true picture of matrimony.  Let me point out that these notions are irrelevant. For one Shiva is more than a husband, he has taken many forms even that of a beggar wandering around begging for alms for his sins. In these forms he is more than a homely husband. A woman's duty is not to constantly depend on her husband. Again Parvathy is no mere mortal. She is Shakti. Even the ganas are her own children. She is not just one beautiful form to be looked at in awe. Stop assigning them specific gender roles. In their bond of matrimony, there is equal distribution of power and authority.

We continued with our class on schools of philosophy in Maya ma'am's class. The class ended with a beautiful song by Brother Albin.

Today we also got a session with our principal who taught us the importance of serendipity. It is the mother of progress. '                                                                               'If you collect information on serendipitous discoveries, you would be able to publish a short book', he said.

Then he talked about different generations-baby boomer, followed by X,Y and Z generations.  I found out that I belong to the Z generation (1996-2012/15)😎.Each of these generations grew up in evolving digital worlds. And since we are destined to become teachers, we should be able to understand the technological nuances of  the generation(the A generation) that we are going to teach.

The panel discussion on educational technology started today, coordinated by Joju sir.
