Kho-Kho: A Game of Strategy
Tracing its origins in Maharashtra, Kho-Kho in ancient times was played on
रथ or chariots and was known as Rathera. This beautiful game is now being played in different parts of the world. Little did I know that we will get to play this game of tag for our PE. Half way into the game my senses became quite alert. All the players had their eyes on the target. It sounded fun to me but then I realized the game meant business. Two teams comprising of eight players simultaneously changing roles of chaser and runner. The team that captures all the runners the fastest wins. It looked easy but capturing the runner was a whole other matter. If you aren't quick on your toes, you will never get near your runners. The runners are allowed to move around while the chaser's movements are limited. The only option left for the chaser is to switch positions with their team player. The chasers have to think fast, else their target will easily slid away. I have grown to love this game within a short period of time and its only the first day.💪
Teaching to entertain and Entertaining to teach indeed.
